Construction Management

Hurst Construction Management Inc. works in the field of construction management, where design professionals, construction managers and owners work in a cooperative manner to build a successful project. In the construction management process, Hurst is involved during the design to give costing and constructability input to the design process.

Taking the initiative to find cost and time effective solutions is what our business has been about for over 105 years.

Depending on the mix of jobs in a current year, approximately one third to one half of our work is done with Hurst fulfilling the role of construction manager. This work is usually negotiated, often in response to a proposal call.

General Contracting

Hurst construction management offers the service of a general contractor, whether fixed price or unit price contract. Hurst is also qualified to be prime contractor as defined by Alberta occupational health and safety.

Depending on the mix of jobs in a current year, approximately one third to one half of our work is done with Hurst acting as a general contractor.

This work may be competitively tendered or negotiated.

Design Build

Hurst construction management works in the field of design build, where a project is built on a turnkey basis for a fixed price.

We have excellent working relationships with design professionals that allow us to form a team for each project.

Depending on the mix of jobs in a current year, approximately 10 to 20 percent of our work is done on a design-build basis.
